Bowie Alumni

James Bowie Elementary has a long standing history of excellence and we would like to honor those who helped establish this history. We are inviting former students to join up by calling, or sending an e-mail to Mrs. McFarlane. Members will be able to have their names listed on the school website with a short bio to detail their stories of academic growth and success. Please join to serve as a positive example of how Bobcats around the world have excelled at life in today's tough cultural climate.

Rodolfo Estrada

James Bowie Elementary was the first school that Rodolfo Estrada attended when he first came to the United States. He had to learn the English language and overcome many adversities. He graduated from Skyline High School in the top 5% in May of 1997. He graduated from Mountain View College on May 15, 2000 with an Associates of Science. Mr. Estrada also graduated from the University of North Texas on August 13, 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, and from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in 2014. From 2015 - 2018 he was one of the coaches for Robotics team 224X and 224W, which one multiple awards including winning state and national championships in VEX IQ for the first time in Dallas ISD history. He currently teaches 5^th grade at James Bowie Elementary.

Ara Grimaldo

Ara Grimaldo attended James Bowie Elementary school. Ara was the first in her family to graduate college and obtain a graduate degree. Ara Grimaldo has a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from Texas A&M University as well as a Masters degree in Social Work from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She is currently Executive Director for After 8 to Educate.

Berenice Leon

Adan Gonzalez

Born to immigrant parents from Mexico, Adan grew up in South Oak cliff and overcame many obstacles in his youth. He graduated salutatorian and senior class president with numerous awards and scholarships. He attended Georgetown University and graduated with a bachelor's in Government with a minor in Education, Inquiry, and Justice. He is also the founder and Executive Director of the Puede Network. He later obtained a Masters Degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education. He also has a Masters in Education Leadership and Principal Certification from Columbia University.
